Job Brief

Plays a crucial role in developing and executing SRP’s Electric Vehicle (EV) strategy and roadmap. Represents SRP with internal and external audiences, applying industry knowledge to advance strategic objectives. Monitors and analyzes industry trends, research, benchmarks, and technical developments affecting SRP’s EV strategy interests. Develops recommendations to SRP leadership and executive management positions on critical issues and strategies for implementation. Serves as technical resource and advisor on EV technologies and utility programs, with particular focus on EV charging, charging infrastructure, EV charging network providers’ business models, OEM strategies, and emerging V2X technologies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute SRP’s EV strategy and roadmap

  • Manage and coordinate external stakeholder engagements

  • Coordinate and facilitate the develop of EV initiative work plans with internal and external partners

  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external EV organizations and partners

  • Represent SRP on external industry groups, community groups, and other consortia as necessary.

  • Perform industry benchmarking to help SRP understand how we compare to other utilities and advise on best practices for EV strategy and execution

  • Manages and leads special projects and initiatives as necessary

  • Inform SRP leadership and management of emerging and impactful EV trends by creating succinct research pieces and presentations

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Level 3 requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is full competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Additional Information

This position requires knowledge of trends, technologies, and leading practices in the EV charging and utility EV program space. Acumen and understanding of the EV program impacts on utility operations (distribution planning, customer programs, integrated system planning) is preferred. Must demonstrate good communication skills, a combination of technical and commercial acumen, and a passion for the role of EV’s in the transition to a low-carbon future.
