Our projects are regulated by federal and state laws which require all employees to successfully pass criminal background checks, MVR, and drug tests (post-employment and random testing).

Job Responsibilities

  • Directs, develops, and oversees the general health and safety policies and procedures of the organization

  • Manages and develops twenty (20) department staff throughout four (4) companies (including Risk/Claims Manager, Safety Field Representatives, Safety Administrative personnel)

  • Ensures and enforces the workplace safety regulations/requirements while complying with OSHA, federal, state, local or industry specific regulations

  • Conducts periodic safety audits

  • Provides programs that ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment

  • Process improvements of current safety procedures

  • Develops a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate required reporting

  • Implements initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards.

Job Qualifications

  • Occupational Safety and Health Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred

  • 5+ years of safety managerial experience, preferably construction

  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week, which may include weekends.

  • Prior heavy/ utility infrastructure construction experience

  • Knowledge of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local and Company safety regulations/requirements

  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures

  • Knowledge of PPE, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Scaffolding, Crane/Rigging, Hazardous Communication, Equipment Safety, Incident Investigation, Traffic Control

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • CHST, CSP, CUSP preferable

  • Willing and able to travel to other Underground Construction offices and job sites

  • Ability to maintain valid driver’s license
