Develops the coordination of system-wide planning functions (Forecasting, Resource Planning, Transmission Planning, Distribution Planning, and Customer Programs) to build integrated studies, analysis, tools, and annual planning to support SRP’s strategic directions, Corporate Objectives, and Sustainability goals. Champions the implementation, sustainment, and evolution of the integrated planning process to position SRP to develop forward looking, integrated solutions to future industry changes. Develops new analysis to assess key criteria and capture feedback from system operating functions to review mid to long term system plans. Leads solar hosting, flexibility, renewable integration, and reliability analysis studies coordinated by the PLT and PCC.
Coordinates the analytical execution of a strategic Integrated System Plan (ISP).
Monitors, tracks, benchmarks, tests and consults on various industry models and tools in development which synthesize system planning functions and fill strategic planning gaps.
Collaborates with operational groups to validate operability of annual plans.
Develop criteria to define project methodology and governance standards for executing projects.
Creates a campaign of awareness with internal stakeholders including Land, Water, Regulatory, Legal, IT, Operations, Pricing, Strategic Planning R&D, Marketing and Finance organizations.
Evolves integrated planning process through lessons learned activities, industry benchmarks, and continuous process improvement.
Reviews and ensures that the appropriate financial, reliability, and sustainability metrics are monitored by project.
Tracks industry evolution of integrated system planning by participating in utility working groups, EPRI research, and maintaining strategic relationships with utilities advancing coordinated planning.
Develops data warehouse to increase efficiency of information transfer among collaborative departments.
Develops stochastic or probabilistic modeling methodology to efficiently process risk simulations on system plans or system planning components.
Participates in collaborative regional partnerships for resource adequacy, Westconnect, WECC scenario modeling and cost allocation analysis.
Launches SRP nodal system modeling to quantify value or risk in strategic long-lead time regional or market initiatives.
Lead efforts aimed at evaluating software and application development packages as requested by departments and submitted by vendors.
Monitor team performance to ensure that projects are implemented, supported, and closed accurately and in accordance with key milestones.
Ensure established project standards are upheld and clearly defined throughout the entire process.
Provide consulting services in relations to Project Management, Process Management, Process Mapping, Business requirement gathering and overall project support to Integrated Planning including Executive Management.
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
Minimum of 8 years of cumulative and progressive post-degree experience required.
Desired or preferred disciplines: Applied math, data science, economics, engineering orIT
Master's degree preferred.
Candidates must possess the ability to work effectively under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Applicants must have demonstrated ability to synthesize clear and compelling stories and define go-forward recommendations and actions based on data, learning and results.
Strong negotiation, interpersonal relationship building, and marketing skills are also desired.
Candidates should have strong management and leadership skills; be an articulate spokesperson with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
