Job Brief

Under general supervision, performs work requiring special skills of the trade in the construction and maintenance of transmission and distribution electrical facilities, as well as deep water well pumps and canal delivery structures owned/or operated by the company. May direct the work of others based on the makeup of the of the crew or work assignment. May sometimes be transported to work locations by fixed wing, rotor or other means of company approved transportation. Job Responsibilities

  • Perform any and all phases of construction, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of canal gates, trash rakes, wellsites and associated equipment.

  • Perform maintenance on pneumatic and hydraulic controlled equipment.

  • Install and maintain wellsite instrumentation.

  • Install, maintain and repair city water supplies owned and operated by SRP.

  • Assist Hydrogeneration in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of essential plant pump equipment.

  • Works with and has knowledge of advanced control system components such as PLC's and data loggers.

  • Install, operates and test LTC's, transformers and other related equipment.

  • Performs any or all phases of construction and maintenance work on transmission and/or distribution structures, including the erecting of steel structures, bending of conduit, copper tubing or buss, installing control wiring, air or oil circuit breakers, switchgear, regulators, batteries, rectifiers or any other electrical controlled equipment.

  • Installs, maintains and repairs wiring and electrical equipment owned or operated by the Project used in other facilities.

  • Performs tests on rubber and hotstick equipment, changes taps, or reconnects wiring on transformers, overhauls switches and performs other similar duties as assigned.

  • Can read and understand electrical schematics and interconnect drawings used for design, construction and troubleshooting electrical circuits and equipment.

  • Has working knowledge of motor control for both AC, and DC equipment.

  • Has a working knowledge for the repair of wound rotor motor equipment and their drums switches.

  • Has the working knowledge to use test equipmemt such as amp meters, voltmeters, phase rotation meters, meggers, hipots and process meters.

  • Has a working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of across-the-line, reduced voltage and variable frequency drive motor starting equipment.

  • Is responsible for the safety of others and will enforce all safety rules.

  • Is responsible for all work being performed in a cost effective manner.

  • Assists other employees doing related work during vacations, sick leaves, or as workloads vary and are adjusted by supervisory personnel.

  • Prepares time and work reports, and performs related work as required.

  • Must be available to work overtime and accept callouts


Completion of an appropriate Apprenticeship program or equivalent.

Additional Information

  • Good physical condition, dependable, and willing to work long hours when required.

Certifications or Testing Required

Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.

Must pass SRP Clearance Procedures Test
