Summary
The Billing Representative will interpret, analyze, and complete timely billing of customer accounts billed through Customer Care & Billing system (CC&B) and associated To Do's with minimal oversight (routine residential and commercial accounts). Conduct research and detailed analysis of accounts while using sound judgement and decision making skills. Ensure all accounts are billed according to the policies set forth in APS's Service Schedules, approved and regulated through Arizona Corporation Commission. Knowledge and ability to utilize applications and systems applicable to the business unit (Meter Data Management System (MDMS), Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI), head end metering applications, etc.).
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma/GED and two (2) years billing, customer service, call center or related administrative support experience.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
One (1) year of CC&B experience typically obtained through at least one (1) year experience in another APS Customer Service position.
General understanding of AMI infrastructure- including meter types/programs, rate compatibility and rate structures.
Knowledge of register and interval read data is preferred. Ability to analyze, apply and accurately bill APS rates in accordance with the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) Rules and Regulations.
Knowledge of emerging practices and technologies used within the area is a plus.
Major Accountabilities
1) Accurately complete daily assigned Billing To Do's. Research, analyze and resolve billing items and ensure correct billing statements are issued within internal, state and/or federal guidelines (i.e. Schedules 1 and 8, Arizona Administrative Code). Meet established quality and timeliness results.
2) Perform various billing calculations and corrections using CC&B and MDMS. Apply analytical and technical capabilities. Utilize multiple systems and tools including CC&B, MDMS, Validating Estimation and Editing (VEE), Pro-rater and other billing tools.
3) Knowledge of ACC Rules and Regulations that relate to billing APS customers along with VEE guidelines.
4) Identify metering, meter reading or service related issues.
5) Ensure proper revenue recovery from APS customers by understanding the ACC Rules and Regulations. Provide correct billing statements within appropriate guidelines and parameters while maintaining strict accuracy levels.
6) Communicate basis for exception resolution to internal and external customers.
7) Ability to multi-task and remain flexible in times of change according to priorities, assignments, emerging rates and technologies.

Flex Role:
This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work. Employees will have two options to choose from:
APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.
*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
*The APS Service Centers are located in the Greater Phoenix Area. Due to business needs, it is a strong preferred for the selected candidate to reside within a one hour commute to the Service Center to respond to situations such as emergent IT system support, home outages and meetings.
