Summary

Responsible for software and hardware product delivery and performance for all application spaces including next generation technology such as cloud engineering and mobile applications. Drives products from design completion to volume production release through lifecycle including troubleshooting software and system problems to ensure performance and reliability.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field and 10 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

Requires mastery level technical knowledge, typically obtained through advanced education and experience across multiple business areas or systems to improve technology planning and development.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

  • Expert level knowledge of multiple programming languages, database management systems and development platforms

  • Skills in understanding and explaining the most highly complex and technical issues and solutions to management and less technology savvy clients and colleagues.

Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and projects across organizations; balancing and prioritizing between multiple disparate work streams; collaborating with leadership, colleagues and teams in different fields across a diverse organization; solving the most advanced complex problems in own area of work

Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response

Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.

This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.

These are a condition of employment at PVNGS.

Major Accountabilities

1) Plans and manages implementation and integration of new technologies

2) Researches and suggests new technologies to improve application performance

3) Provides technical expertise in developing architectural frameworks

4) Provides architectural support for application development, enhancement configuration, and migration

5) Maintains documentation for system architecture for reference purposes

6) Designs and develops new integrations as required

7) Serves as a recognized engineering expert and defines solution requirements based on industry trends and new technologies

8) Identifies, creates and tests prototypes and innovative systems related to solution engineering through internal knowledge, experience, and market insights

Flex Role:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:

  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.

  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.

*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
