Primary Purpose
The Director of Leave Management is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of employee leave programs, including but not limited to ADA, FMLA, disability, parental leave, workers compensation and other statutory and company-specific leave policies. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while providing strategic direction and leadership to the leave management team. This role involves providing strategic leadership in handling sensitive employee matters, ensuring legal compliance, and enhancing overall employee experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience in leave administration, with a deep understanding of employment laws and best practices.
Primary Duties
Leadership and Strategy:
Develop and implement comprehensive leave management strategies aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements.
Lead and mentor the leave management team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management on leave-related matters
Develop and implement effective strategies for managing workers' compensation claims.
Partner with other HR functions, such as HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations and Compliance, to ensure an integrated approach to employee support and policy implementation
Compliance and Policy Management:
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.
Develop, update, and maintain leave policies and procedures.
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to policies and identify areas for improvement and reduce legal risk
Employee Support and Communication:
Oversee the administration of leave programs, including FMLA, ADA-related leave, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, and company-specific leave policies.
Direct the end-to-end leave process, from eligibility determination to employee return-to-work planning. o Partner with HR Operations and third-party vendors to ensure accurate and timely leave processing, record-keeping, and compliance with all applicable laws. o Ensure the communication of leave policies and procedures clearly and effectively to all employees. o Provide support and guidance to employees throughout the leave process.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Monitor and analyze leave data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on leave utilization and program effectiveness.
Utilize data to make informed decisions and recommendations for policy changes.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Work closely with HR, payroll, and benefits teams to ensure seamless integration of leave programs.
Collaborate with external vendors and partners to manage leave administration and related services.
Coordinate with legal counsel on complex leave issues and compliance matters.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in leave management or related HR functions and 5 years of supervisory experience.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in HRIS and leave management software.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $160,000.00/Yr. – $220,000.00/Yr. plus an additional $50K in Long Term Incentive Plan annually
