Contractor - Regulatory Compliance

Contract Length - 2 - 3 years beginning approximately January - 2020

Regulatory Compliance Management

  • Analyzes the root cause analysis of informal and formal PUC complaints and citations to determine the necessary corrective actions for ensuring compliance and minimization of complaints filed.

  • Develops and presents responses to discovery in matters before the Public Utility commission.

  • Liaisons between the Bureau of Consumer Services (BCS) and PGW regarding customer activities; performs detailed reports and data filings as required by the BCS.

  • Directs the Customer Responsibility Program and the periodic review of all Customer Affairs policies, procedures and practices to ensure they are in compliance with all applicable regulations of the Public Utility Commission; makes recommendations for modifications as necessary to maintain compliance and streamline and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.

  • Analyzes Public Utility Commission Orders and Motions to determine the potential impact to PGW operations and to make recommendations on how to mitigate the impact or maximize the benefits thereof.

Personnel Management

  • Supervises managers as well as other professional and non-exempt employees responsible for the day-to-day operational planning and tasks related assigned units; assesses subordinate needs, monitors performance, sets goals, evaluates and disciplines as necessary ensuring subordinates are well equipped to meet and/or exceed job expectations.

  • Ensures subordinate managers are properly trained and adhere to company policies, practices and procedures including collective bargaining agreement; oversees decisions made on disciplinary matters, employee grievances, and other problems with employees, supervisor, and (when applicable), union representatives.

Finance & Accounting

  • Negotiates and settles complaints whenever possible authorizing monetary and/or billing adjustments which are deemed in the best interest of the company and customers.

  • Prepares monthly and annual capital and operating budgets; allocates project budgets consistent with PGW’s strategic and operating plans. Develops justification for all capital projects and for all monthly variances for the operating budget.

Other Related Functions

  • Identifies performance gaps between goals and actual performance; works with divisional Vice President and department heads to provide corrective actions to remedy the condition.

  • Performs other special projects and assignments as directed
