Position Specific Description
This is a regional role supporting the PGD Northwest Region in Florida
The Environmental Leader is responsible for compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations along with permit and reporting requirements at our Gulf Clean Energy Center and Plant Smith. The position will be based at the GCEC and travel to support Plant Smith as required. This position leads a team of environmental chemists and specialists (bargaining unit and exempt employees) and will be apart of the plant leadership team. This position ensures documentation of environmental procedures and compliance programs are maintained along with interacting with state and local officials during compliance inspections. The candidate will need to remain up to date with new and revised environmental regulations in addition to collaborating with the environmental services, emissions testing, central laboratory and water chemistry fleet teams to replicate best practices.
Employees in this role lead a team responsible for successfully executing the Power Generation Division (PGD) Environmental Management System and ensuring plant water chemistry parameters are maintained in accordance with fleet recommendations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains water chemistry Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) program and communicates corrective measures to the site/plant
Conducts sampling activities as needed by site environmental permitting
Completes required reporting to local/state/federal agencies
Conducts routine self-inspections
Oversees the plant or site safety program as required
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
High School Grad / GED
Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
Experience: 7+ years
