JOB SUMMARY :
The Market Analyst is responsible for contributing to the successful implementation of new products and services by utilizing sound research and market intelligence to identify market potential, determine product viability and provide support for business cases to justify profitable products and services that will increase customer loyalty and drive net income growth.
This person will design and implement studies of various scopes and methodologies (primary research), manage several projects at a time, perform statistical analysis and present findings. In addition, this person will conduct secondary research by gathering information from multiple sources, synthesizing the data and converting the information into usable insights. This research will be used in the decision-making process regarding new products and services.
A four-year degree, preferably with a major in marketing research, statistics or business, is preferred.
Three or more years’ experience in product related research or similar required.
Three or more years’ experience in product development, sales and/or marketing preferred.
Ability to coordinate primary research projects including customer panels, surveying and focus groups required.
Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including new techniques is desired.
Ability to conduct secondary research utilizing market intelligence, competitive intelligence, public records and other information desired.
Strong analytical skills needed, with the ability to swiftly assess needs and priorities, gather and interpret large volumes data and disseminate information useful in making business decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required, particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
SBSS or similar data tool proficiency required.
Experience with Qualtrics or similar online survey platform desired.
Strong communication and presentation skills required.
Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, continuously changing environment needed.
Strong relationship building, collaboration and team work skills required.
Demonstrated knowledge of finance and/or financial analysis is a plus.
Knowledge of energy and utility industry issues and technology, including smart meters, smart grid and innovative products and services is a plus.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and analyze data, interpret results and trends, and recommend strategies for income growth based on sales analysis, marketing research and competitive analysis.
This position will be filled at exempt level 3, 4 or 5 with an opportunity to be filled at exempt level 6 depending on the selected candidates background and experience.
