Position Specific Description

Our Transmission & Substation Field Operations Department is looking for a Construction Leader to join their team in Pensacola, FL. This position is responsible for overseeing protection & controls work for new substation construction as well as upgrades to existing substations. The selected candidate for this role must have experience installing, programming, testing, and troubleshooting substation relays, communication equipment, breakers, and transformers.

To be considered for this role, the candidate needs to have experience with Protection & Controls. Electrical Engineering Degree is highly preferred.

Job Overview

This role leads a team responsible for Transmission and Substation’s construction projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures projects are completed safely, within required schedule, budget, and in compliance

  • Oversees implementation of technical, regulatory, environmental and corporate compliance

  • Maintains day-to-day site coordination requirements to integrate transmission and substation construction projects

  • Ensures contractor safety participation through attendance and review tailboards, field risk assessments and oversees observation reviews

  • Ensures timely resolution and constructability of field compliance issues and actively supports continuous improvement

  • Reviews all project bids and ensures all required project permits are in hand, prior to the commencement of the project

  • Maintains thorough review and processes all project invoices

  • Develops realistic action steps, timetables and resources estimates for projects

  • Meets attendance and storm duty requirements and has the ability to work extended hours

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Experience: 6+ years

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Bachelor’s - Engineering
