Expected salary range of $106,200 to $118,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Location

This is an on-site role, located at our Pearl River, New York facility, with a Monday – Friday standard schedule. Occasional overtime hours will be required, including some weekend work, for scheduled shutdowns and emergency coverage as needed.

Primary Purpose of Position

Constellation Operates and Maintains the Pearl River Campus:

  • Electric Transmission & Distribution System Steam & Chilled Water Distribution Systems

  • Gas Turbine based Central Steam Facility.

  • Central Chilled Water Facility.

  • Wastewater Treatment Facility.

  • Site Fire Alarm Systems.

  • Energy Metering Systems.

These operation and maintenance activities are performed in a manner to ensure they are always safe, reliable, efficient, green and mission ready.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the maintenance and operations of large-scale facilities and centralized and distributed utility systems. Solid time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple projects and tasks with a high level of proficiency; acute attention to detail is required. This position encompasses several responsibilities that will increase in breadth and scope which include:

  • Serve as an engineering liaison for projects / work performed in Cogeneration and Chilled Water plants, energy distribution systems.

  • Participate in reviewing and executing safety procedures, conduct of operations in a safe and conscientious manner following safety rules, procedures, and actively participating in safety programs, such as confined space, lockout/tagout (LOTO), etc.

  • Collaborate with the supervisors of the Utility Plants in routine maintenance and repairs as necessary to keep the plant operating at optimal efficiency.

  • Assist in the planned maintenance on equipment located in utility plants.

  • Perform field investigation and trouble-shooting tasks for assigned projects.

  • Perform inspections of site infrastructure and equipment.

  • Track and monitor plant efficiency metrics for steam, electric and chilled water production. Produce regular monthly efficiency reports.

  • Analyze plant improvement projects, including technical and economic viability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities, or Marine Engineering and a minimum of three (3) years of facilities and operations, with utilities experience and knowledge of the trades applicable to operations, maintenance, and design

  • Understanding of Medium Voltage Systems (4160 and 13,200 volts) and their maintenance

  • Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of chillers, cooling towers, high pressure boilers, pumps, air compressors, electrical systems, control systems, and piping systems.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams)

  • Ability to read and interpret underground utility drawings, one-line electrical diagrams, P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation) drawings, architectural, and mechanical drawings. Excellent teamwork and communications skills.

  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.

  • Must have a valid NYS Driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with preventative maintenance management software (CMMS).

  • Some experience with project coordination with various State and County regulatory agencies.

  • Central utility plant and Building Automation System (BAS) Controls System Experience.

  • Experience with chemical treatment and/or filtration systems.

  • Preparation of calculations, reports, specifications, and presentations.

  • Review of shop drawings and submittals.

  • Familiar with building codes, OSHA, and NFPA standards.

  • AutoCAD skills are a plus.

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or PE a plus.

Additional Information

  • Standing, bending, and lifting, up to 30 lbs.

  • Ability to enter confined spaces.

  • Ability to climb fixed and portable ladders and work at heights up to 30 feet.

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Work outdoors/cold environments or indoors/hot environments.
