Pike Corporation Data Entry Specialist in Peachtree City, Georgia

SUMMARY:

The Data Entry Specialist position provides administrative support to the engineering organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under supervision the individual in this role is expected to:

 Responsible for handling large volumes of data entry into company data base systems.

 Process field information into a work management system

 Type data into system at a speed of 40-60 wpm with minimal error rate

 Work independently and follow through on assignments

 Meet established deadlines and demonstrate high commitment to achieving goals

 Maintain a high energy level with ability to work in fast paced, ambiguous environment

 Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills

 Perform other dutiesas assigned by management.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Semi-routine; majority of work covered by established procedures.

RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE WORK GROUP: Exchange of information, which occasionally requires tact and/or diplomacy.

  2. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Education

    Required High schooldegree or GED.

    Preferred Associates degree(AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school).

    Experience

    0-1 Year(s) Experience in similar support role or performing general administrative duties. Familiarity with utility or engineering office operations is preferred.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operational procedures, etc.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets.

    REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    OTHER SKILLSAND ABILITIES:

  • Required computer skills and knowledge of relevant software (MS Office skills)

  • Typing rate of 40-60wpm with minimal error rate

  • Required knowledge of operation of standard office equipment

  • Ability to deal and work well with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Team oriented
