Position Specific Description

In this internship you’ll be immersed in the NextEra Energy culture where we collaborate to best serve our clients and customers; and where we empower and inspire each other through support, autonomy and trust. Throughout your internship, we provide continuous training and performance feedback to ensure you develop the necessary skills to succeed.

The NextEra Energy Internship Program provides valuable exposure to the broad range of digital and technical functions across NextEra’s businesses while allowing early-in-career talent to build on their skills, knowledge, and experience. This class of interns will work closely with the Data Science and Digital Technology team to deliver real results in the areas of business, technology, and process/project management throughout the enterprise.

  • AI Strategy: develop expertise working with software development teams across ML, AI, product management, to enhance UX/UI design and engineering.

-Digital Business Solutions: develop an understanding of our Power Generation and EV businesses including asset management systems and artificial intelligence tools. Join technology project teams that collaborate closely with cross functional stakeholders that drive business process improvement, automation, and drive efficiencies and cost savings for the business.

-Data & Analytics: Join NextEra’s team of data scientists to analyze operational, predictive, equipment sensor and market data and to define strategy, improve performance, recognize latent trends, and identify market growth opportunities. Extensive hands-on role with involvement in developing, implementing, operating and enhancing products. The candidate is accountable for the quality of the product delivered. In coordination with others, monitors and analyzes production performance, while looking for ways to optimize and scale existing solutions. Monitors product and process metrics (such as speed of delivery, quality, usability) and implements process improvements and product enhancements

Job Overview

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects

  • Completes challenging projects and assignments

  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship

  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school grad / GED

  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program

  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
