Position Specific Description
As a Data Product Manager, you will put data at the heart of everything you do. You will be responsible for designing products and features that are based on advanced data-driven insights with a focus on data flow, architecture, availability, reliability, scalability, extensibility, usability, security/compliance, release management and roadmap. The domain focus of the Data Product Manager will be Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Smart Grid, IoT Data Operational, and Analytical Management.
Job Responsibilities:
Clearly defining data goals, value, and vision within the organization
Building a short-term and long-term data roadmap
Bridging the gap between engineers, analytics, and other data consumers
Aligning internal and external data customers to a single cohesive plan
Clearly mapping out key data consumers and personas
Driving enterprise adoption of data products
Facilitating data literacy in an organization
Help to drive the Data Community of practices and Support
Helping break down extremely large data initiatives into manageable chunks which can be delivered incrementally
Adding Agile project management principles into the data organization by also playing the role of product owner and/or facilitator
Ability to manage third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver operational excellence
Accountable for owning and executing on all SDLC and DevSecOps release management, automation, process standards and governance
Works with IT and business leaders to develop and prioritize overall product strategy focused on delivering high value outcomes
Oversees value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to increase quality, efficiencies and meet product strategy and well as product vision needs
Desired Experience:
Experience with real time large-scale data platforms
Knowledge of current data warehousing concepts is a plus
Experience with data visualization, experimentation frameworks and optimization a plus
Familiarity with ingestion and consumption technologies, architecture, and best practices
Strong experience in AWS data services and cost management
Familiarity with Hadoop, Hive, Redshift, DynamoDB, Glue, Kafka, EMR, MSK, Athena, Spark, Scala, Python, Pyspark, Java, SQL
Product Management techniques (requirements gathering, road mapping, prioritization)
AMI and Smart Grid Data experience is a big plus
