The Technical Sales Representative is part of the Custom Solutions/Contract Manufacturing sales team functioning within a collaborative and customer driven commercial organization. This role is responsible for achieving business and individual growth objectives, developing relationships with customers, understanding customer needs, providing well-rounded solutions to customer concerns, proactively generating new customer relationships through networking, referrals, virtual engagements, and face-to-face meetings.

Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities:
Sales Performance – Achieve individual sales growth contributing to the budgeted sales goals.
Business Development – Using a “Hunter” mentality, pursues leads, gives product demonstrations, and presents solutions to customer and/or end user. Qualify opportunities to ensure accuracy of RFQ’s, quotes and orders as we strive to exceed customer expectations.
Key Account Management – Maintain and grow relationships and business with customer working with engineering, quality, operations, and purchasing.
Technical/Engineering expertise – Maintain exceptional level of expertise on products/services relating to T.O. Plastics customers by providing technical expertise to drive new business and solve customer problems.
Program management – Project manage all opportunities both internally and externally to meet customer expectations. This involves working with estimating, design engineering, quality, production, and customer service.
Teamwork – Collaborate with customer service, engineering, quality, project management and / or operational teams to ensure successful on-going product development after sales service requirements are met.
Customer Service – Respond to customer concerns and apply independent decision making while striving for first-time resolutions on all client problems/issues.
Sales Excellence – Strong CRM experience where the tool is leveraged to manage all customer interactions and follow internal business process.
Key Performance Management – Manage business/opportunities around key performance indicators and communicate successes and improvements as necessary.
Identify and report any unsafe work conditions, behaviors, or incidents.
Follow and adhere to all safety procedures.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
Education, Experience, & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree or 10 + years’ related technical foundation experience.
Strong technical experience will also be considered.
7+ years’ experience in consultative technical selling position.
Thermoformed, packaging and /or injection molded packaging to OEM’s and related businesses experience (preferred).
Medical device industry experience (preferred).
Technical/Engineering aptitude (required).
Experience in packaging, medical device packaging, thermoforming (preferred).
Travel – air and/or driving (approximately 30% of time) is required. (domestically).
Valid driver’s license.
Detail oriented, able to follow through effectively, disciplined in time-management and gets things done.
Demonstrates a strong work ethic, flexible with work hours, responsive to customer needs and willing to be available when necessary.
Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present at multiple levels in the organization.
Active listener with the ability to effectively document and retain key information.

This position may require periodic walking trips through the manufacturing facility where decibel levels are considered noisy, but safe (personal protective equipment provided as required).
Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment consistently and correctly. This may include wearing safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, other safety equipment as designated, and adhering to the safety dress code.
Onsite office environments are controlled and well-lit and pose few physical hazards.
Approximately 50% of time is traveling to meet with customers generating new business and managing existing accounts.
This position is considered sedentary work which involves sitting most of the time with only occasional need to walk to stand.
May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and hand function may be required to complete data entry, use technology, and complete other administrative tasks as assigned.
