PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs and/or manages activities relating to planning, designing, building, maintaining, and operating a high quality and secure network infrastructure across the Nuclear fleet, along with required processes and procedures to ensure cyber security compliance for Nuclear under the guidance of a Technical Analyst or Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform, document and assist in planning work activities relating to projects, sub-projects, or processes. For projects: analyze requirements, design, build, and test IT software solutions in accordance with IT or Site procedures. Interface with site Engineering and other site departments as appropriate to assist in the implementation and administration of the NRC mandated cyber security program. For network security operations: perform activities as required to manage service level agreements and cyber security activities for assigned site. 60%
Assist in creation of documentation for products and services. 10%
Maintain engagement with business and IT partners and other stakeholders. 10%
Proactively build business/IT knowledge to provide solutions. 10%
Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within network and security IT operations. Maintain awareness of trends and issues in area of technical expertise. 10%
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 2-3 years of experience in IT support team and processes or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Appropriate technical skills in LAN, WAN, telecommunication, and IT security related technologies.
Knowledge of business practices and processes in Corrective Action Program.
Ability to function in a highly regulated/procedure driven environment.
Strong problem solving skills.
Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work independently.
Experience in IT support of Nuclear Site Operations
Network related certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Security related certifications
Experience in Nuclear and IT Corrective Action Programs
Utilizes understanding of customer's business needs to determine requirements
Applies technical expertise to plan, design, build or support required network and security operations, along with Nuclear/NRC cyber security requirements and regulations. Helps other team members learn appropriate theories, practices and principles that relate to their skill set portfolio
As assigned, manage budget for area of responsibility
As assigned, manage working relationship with outsourcing partners
