Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining all the Avangrid Storage and Backup infrastructure, such as, VNX, SVC, NetApp, Datadomain, Commvault, TSM, Azure Storage, VPlex, VMAX, and other Storage and Backup devices. Supports other IT functions which may include, vendors management, service support team management, complex and critical ticket resolution and troubleshooting, Storage and Backup related projects lead and technology planning, roadmap creation and architecture proposals validation. Ensures IT procedures and policies are followed to meet Service Level Agreements.
1.Leads and designs technical support and solutions for the installation, configuration and maintenance of platforms for daily production requirements and project development.
2.Responsible for Avangrid Storage migration, configuration and support in the Azure Cloud as in on prem.
3.Seeks Cloud storage cost efficiency, making proposals to respond to the business units’ requirements and needs at the highest cost-benefit rate.
4.Maintains up-to-date documentation and procedures that define the operability of the infrastructure.
5.Monitors backup and storage devices for performance and availability. Makes recommendations when necessary to meet the expected demands.
6.Maintains current system tables such as user accounts, hosts definitions, software inventories, ports inventory, storage networks, backup policies.
7.Installs/maintains third party software packages as require.
8.Maintains current devices firmware and software versions up to date, including patch levels on all devices.
9.Designs the roadmap to ensure the storage and backup infrastructure reliability, scalability and availability, reducing the environment obsolescence though the appropriate lifecycle programs.
Skills and Requirements
Education & Experience Required:
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field. Requires at least 8 years work experience in related area.
•Experience on Plan, develop and implement large-scale projects from conception to completion and Interface with clients and gather business requirements and objectives.Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Azure fundamentals, Microsoft Azure storage solution concepts Queue storage, Table storage, Blob storage and File storage Proven experience working on and leading project implementation.Extensively experienced with the performance tuning and planning for consolidation of storage.
•Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and learn new Technologies. Proven strong experience in setting up Commvault backup schedules, storage policies, daily alert reports, backup summary reports, audit reports and restore process, and backup agents installation and configuration on multiple platforms, Windows, RHEL, SQL, SAP…
•Experience in Administration of Storage to Multiprotocol Environments and NFS, DD Boost FS, Microsoft SMB protocol in large environments.
•Experience in implementing and administering NetApp, EMC and IBM storages, including VMAX, VNX, Powermax, EMC UNITY, VPLEX, Recover point, Clariion storage technologies, IBM DSxxx series, FS9200, V5030E, NetApp FASxxxx series.
•Experience with HCI, such as Nutanix, merging separate infrastructure into an hyperconverged infrastructure.
•Strong hands on experience in Clustered High Availability (HA) configurations across Multiple sites for Tier 1 applications.
•Large experience coordinating service support vendors, with international and local support teams, following ITIL Processes
•Enterprise-class storage and data network design, deployment, and testing experience. Ability to perform advanced storage analysis.
•Broad understanding of industry trends across cloud operating platforms and data security.
•Preferred certification in Microsoft Azure Fundamentals and ITIL® V3 Foundation
•Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.Ability to respond to 24/7 support.
•Ability to design a short-mid term roadmap to migrate on prem storage infrastructure to Azure cloud.
•Ability to develop and maintain vendor relationships.
•Ability to coordinate with multiple individuals and departments.
•Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple ongoing projects and initiatives.
•Ability to learn new technologies and apply them to current operational environments.
•Ability to gather business requirements to design the most efficient storage and backup architecture and implement and support it end to end.
