JOB SUMMARY:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

All duties related to execution of M&A; deals based in the US, with a global perspective:

  • Valuation (DCF and other common methodologies): design and modeling of pro-forma financials, analysis of financial statements, analysis of comparables and scenario design and build up

  • Development of all internal work required for the execution and approval of non-organic transactions including internal presentations, investment and divestment dossiers, supporting models

  • Involvement in projects from origination, to signing and closing

  • Opportunity identification and analysis

  • Benchmarking of key US/global competitors activity in M&A;

  • General awareness of US utility market fundamentals (regulatory and financial)

  • Preparation of internal analysis notes, as required

  • Analysis of potential transaction opportunities in renewable assets (wind, solar and other emerging technologies and business models) and / or regulated assets/companies in the US market

Other relationships:

  • Regular interaction with managers within AGR and the Iberdrola Group business units

  • Regular interactions with investment bankers

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

  • Participate, drive and support AGR and Iberdrola’s non-organic transactions for US/worldwide growth

  • Benchmarking of competitor’s non-organic growth strategies in the US, and other core regions

  • Assist in maintaining key relationships with investment banks and other advisors to track sector merger and acquisition activity and identify non-organic opportunities

  • Cooperate with the different business units and corporate areas across the Group

  • Follow-up of the M&A; trends in the US and other core markets

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Engineering with a minimum of five years relevant experience required.

  • CPA, CFA or other accredited certificate highly desirable (including those pending completion).

  • Fluent in professional English (written, oral), Conversational Spanish desirable.

  • Three to five years of experience in mergers & acquisitions and/or corporate transactions.

  • Direct participation in two to five significant M&A; transactions, energy industry preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Specialist knowledge in financial valuation methodologies with expert modeling skills in Microsoft Excel and as advanced user of PowerPoint

  • Expert use of Bloomberg, SNL or other financial information suppliers

  • Exceptional capacity for work under pressure and timely delivery of high quality work

  • Flexible to work long office hours

  • Availability for travel

  • Results oriented

  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills

  • Team player
