Omaha Public Power District Intern - Summer (May-Aug) - Maintenance Services - North Omaha Sta in Omaha, Nebraska

Department: Maintenance Services

Location: North Omaha Station/Peaking

Duration: Summer (May-Aug) 2025

Work Schedule: Dayshift 4/10 hour days Monday thru Thursday (40 hrs week)

Pay: $17.19 - $21.,02 (per hour)

Job Responsibilities:

Assist the Maintenance personnel in the following job duties:

Assist craft personnel with equipment repairs (mechanical or electrical)

Assist with moving material

Assist with confined space monitoring

Assist with oversite of contractors

Understand power plant operations

Assist with plant clean-up

Qualifications

Specific fields of study required: Mechanical, Electrical, Welding or controls-based field of study.

2.5 GPA or higher is required

Good communication skills

Ability to multi-task

Mechanical or Electrical fundamentals

Must demonstrate strong teamwork

Current full-time student attending an accredited college/university

Enrolled in a 2 year technical program
