Position Summary
Under direct supervision, provide daily project support to Engineering Design, which includes data entry, scanning, filing of documents, reviewing engineering drawings, drafting of engineering documents, field visits, and other special projects as assigned. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical skills and must be a part of daily activities.
Minimum Requirements
Preferred - Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
Preferred - Experience with ESRI Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
Education
Required - Completed a minimum of one (1) year of college level coursework, preferably in civil or mechanical engineering, or a closely related or technical field of study. Must be currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program or if a recent graduate, must be pursuing post graduate hours.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Testing
Required - Have and maintain a valid driver’s license Upon Hire
Required - Employee(s) in this position are covered under the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol testing provisions. This includes post-offer, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, follow-up, and return to duty testing. Upon Hire

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with personal computers, tablets, and/or other electronic devices to include familiarity with, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and enterprise wide software (e.g., SAP).
Ability to learn new or upgraded computer software as required.
Exceptional organizational skills including ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to changing work demands and interruptions.
Must exhibit good analytical ability.
Ability to work independently on a consistent basis is preferred.
Efficient written and verbal communication skills, in English, to assist internal and external customers, co-workers and management professionally, regardless of provocation.
Essential Functions
Review As-Built drawings for water and gas projects and assist in the development of drawings for proposed projects.
Process various records and drawings as needed.
Review water and gas distribution system maps and assist project planning and coordination along with operational tasks.
Assist with transfer of documents to permanent electronic storage.
Assist with miscellaneous special projects as needed.
Perform various field tasks as needed, safely, in various weather conditions.
