The Corporate Marketing & Communications Business Partner is a key adviser to leadership within assigned business unit(s), with direct reporting to Corporate Marketing & Communications. This role is designed to be a thought partner to assigned leadership; a strategist for top business unit communication and change priorities; an adviser for leadership communication coaching, and a resource for day-to-day communication inquiries. The Corporate Marketing & Communications Business Partner will combine strong interpersonal influence, business acumen, coaching, and project management skills to guide business units in aligning employee behaviors with strategy.

Collaborate with leadership to identify business unit communication priorities and lead the creation of communication strategies.

  • Build a deep understanding of business partners’ objectives in order to tie communications work directly to desired business outcomes.

  • Use active listening to uncover communication needs and priorities to provide direction for focusing on high-value work.

  • Identify areas of misalignment with corporate strategy and areas where Communications can increase their support

Develop and execute communication plans for initiatives that clearly demonstrate the link between desired business outcome and chosen communications activities.

  • Enable leader effectiveness through expert communication coaching and counsel.

  • Build constructive and effective relationships to develop a deep understanding of business needs.

  • Provide expert counsel to senior leaders and managers to build communication and dialogue skills. Supports others to focus communication around the needs and preferences of their audience while helping to anticipate likely reactions to messaging. Tailors training and coaching based on insight into business units’ specific needs.

  • Develop communication plans according to business objectives. Assesses progress to objectives and course corrects as needed. Identifies, tracks and reports outcome-focused metrics.

  • Participate in the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and incident communication activities as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business or related field OR seven (7) years of experience in a related field.

  • Five (5) years of experience in employee and change communication.

Desired:

  • Master’s Degree in Communication or related field.

  • Change management certification.
