Job description

The analyst’s main task will be to assist in the consolidation of financial information for AES’s US Utilities and offer valuable insights to support strategic decision making. The role will also be responsible for helping prepare financial forecasts that are included in various regulatory filings. Key responsibilities will include financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. The ideal applicant must have strong analytical skills, a thorough comprehension of financial concepts, and the ability to efficiently collaborate with cross-functional groups in different countries.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate financial information to key stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.

  • Lead the consolidation of financial data process for the company, applying best practices and ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.

  • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets, and perform variance analysis and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives.

  • Prepare and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Define, implementand improve processes and best practices to digitize and automate financial reporting and analysis, using tools such as Power BI, Excel, and AI

  • Support ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field

  • Master's degree is preferred

  • Advanced level of English is mandatory

  • At least 2 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, or a related discipline

  • Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis,using tools such as Power BI, Excel and Anaplan

  • Experience working at a regulated utility company is a plus
