The generation business group (Liberty Power, formerly known as Algonquin Power) owns a portfolio of regulated and long term contracted North American based wind, solar, hydroelectric and thermal powered generating facilities representing more than 1.5+ GW of installed capacity.

This role can be located in Ontario, Calgary, Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, given the travel to multiple sites.
Regional Manager is accountable for the safe and reliable operation of all facilities within the Liberty Power Fleet. This person is ultimately accountable for the financial performance of the fleet within the parameters of the corporate mission statement and values.
Accountable for the safe and reliable operation of assets, including the financial performance of all assets
Accountable for adherence to corporate policies and procedures by all staff under their direction
Accountable to ensure regional alignment with Liberty Power business strategy and corporate direction
Manage a team of Site Managers within the facilities to meet operational requirements
Plan and schedule operations staff and implement strategies to maximize revenue
Establish maintenance and operating standards for the fleet
Ensure that facility contractors are meeting contractual obligations
Establish annual objectives and targets for the fleet in conjunction with the Director of Operations
Identify operational risks and implement mitigating activities
Report monthly operating and financial performance
Plan and execute sustaining capital projects
Ensure that operations staff is adequately trained to meet company objectives
Develop divisional succession plans for management, operators and technician teams
Develop annual budgets within approved budget parameters
Interface with other departments as required
Interface with external agencies as required
Education & Experience
Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or Commercial Construction
10+ years of related Wind and/or Solar industry experience
3-5 years’ experience leading a team
Ability to travel up to 75% within North America
