Purpose

This position is responsible for providing scheduling services related to a wide range of renewable energy power generation projects with Liberty's Business Development & Construction group for unregulated projects. This responsibility will be mainly with respect to new wind and solar facility construction projects, but could also involve projects earlier in the development process.

Accountabilities

  • Provide coordination of all scheduling during construction of new generation facilities.

  • Creating and maintaining project development and construction schedules based on specific requirements from multiple input and data resources, both in P6 and simplified schematics in MS excel and occasionally MS Project.

  • Understanding and use of contractor, vendor delivery, permitting & interconnection project schedules to articulate impacts for project planning purposes

  • Review contract schedules and proposal documents and assess viability and completeness of contractor or equipment provider schedules

  • On an ‘as-needed’ basis, produce resources loaded schedules (labour, equipment and material costs)

  • Assist project managers in creating short-term schedules and monitoring these schedules to determine their impact on the master schedule

  • Prepare “look-ahead” reports or schedules

  • Work with project managers to evaluate construction progress and provide regular schedule updates

  • Identifying warnings, problems or conflicts in the project schedule in real-time, based on specific input from multiple data sources, for the purpose of mitigating the impact of these risks

  • Actively monitor and communicate any possible project issues that could delay the schedule

  • Analyze contractor and Owner monthly schedules and prepare reports for the purpose of mitigating the impact of these risks

  • Create compliance reports, matrices and tables for permitting, interconnection, FERC & NERC

  • Review various project contract, extract milestone dates and incorporate into owner's schedule

  • Review contract schedules and proposal documents and assess viability and completeness of contractor or equipment provider schedules

Education & Experience

  • University degree or equivalent education/industry experience in construction.

  • Minimum 3-5 years working experience in scheduling in a large scale engineering & construction environment, preferably in the power generation & renewable energy industry.

  • The ability to read and interpret constructions drawings

  • Working knowledge entire suite of Microsoft Office programs and ability to use new software as required with the support of training as needed.

  • Fundamental understanding of worker and public safety issues and environmental regulations.

  • Willingness to adhere to and succeed in Liberty provided safety training including practical and in class sessions.

  • Proficient in P6, specifically the design of “constraints and dependencies”

  • Experience with owner-level scheduling issues (control, financing, permitting, etc.) is preferred

  • General project engineering experience in an EPC environment

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (written and oral)

  • Agility, resilience in a fast paced environment, results & accountability oriented are key competencies

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and the ability to rent vehicles on the corporate account.
