Purpose
The project controller provides and supports the Customer First Program needs of the Transformation business. They will assist in completing a variety of financial analysis and program management activities related to the monthly reporting of the program costs as well as financial administration activities of Customer First. The project controller must be familiar with a wide variety of accounting, financial, planning and modeling and project management concepts. Cross functional collaboration is critical to success in this role. The project controller will be the "go to" person for the modeling and analysis of the Customer First Program costs.
Accountabilities
Budget, Planning and Control
Build and maintain project budgets and schedules
Provide accurate monthly reports with detailed variance analysis of actual results compared to budget and re-forecast when necessary
Financial Administration
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports together with the year-end schedules, cost reports and reconciliations and assist in the preparation of management reports
Assist with the preparation of the cost benefit analysis and documentation
Provide administrative support of the benefits realization process
Preparation of program status reports and materials for the different committee meetings
On/Off boarding
- Responsible for the on/off boarding of employees in the Customer First Program
Program Documentation
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of program documentation
Other Requirements:
Other duties as assigned by the program management office
Strong knowledge of accounting theory, generally accepted accounting principles and the Code of Federal Regulations
Utility accounting experience an asset
Ability to analyze, interpret and report financial information
Strong computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications
Experience with Great Plains and/or SAP system would be an asset
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Finance and/or Accounting
Project management experience
3-5 years’ experience
