Position Summary

Vegetation Management Program Management leadership manages teams in the planning, execution, and ongoing monitoring/management of all system-wide work (or projects) in a significant work category (program). Work categories may include internally planned work, such as maintenance and construction required for compliance, or externally generated work, such as new business or work requested by others. Incumbents may be involved in program design, execution, or both. The incumbent continually monitors internal and external factors that affect the planning, forecasting, and successful execution of the program work and determines, recommends, and implements adjustments as needed. The leader ensures work is completed and verifies that activities comply with applicable regulations, tariffs, standards, and work procedures. Incumbents foster a safe work culture and environment, ensuring employees adhere to all company and regulatory safety policies, practices, and requirements.

  • This position is hybrid. The individual may be requested to attend meetings in-person in Oakland / San Ramon / Dublin / other locations as required, and the role also entails meeting with the local team in each region.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $194,000

&/OR​

California Minimum: $116,000

California Maximum: $184,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team of customer focused, subject matter experts dedicated to delivering for our hometowns.

  • Oversees staff work, prioritizes and delegates work assignments and handles escalated issues from staff. May be involved in the research and resolution of customer complaints/issues arising from vegetation management work in the service territory.

  • Participates in annual work plan forecasting, considering factors that might affect demand for work, expected volumes, and unit costs, partnering with related departments/leaders.

  • Oversees regular production and distribution of program metrics. Collects, consolidates, and analyzes work completion information to determine overall trends. Develops and delivers presentations on program status, risk, and corrective measures to managers and directors.

  • Contributes to process and procedure development, implementation, communications, and training for program changes. Ensures that new processes and procedures are explored and implemented to improve efficiencies, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

  • May function as a consultant, subject matter expert, or project manager, depending upon the needs of the various business partners.

  • Prioritizes program work based on available resources, the size of the project portfolio, costs, risks, exposures, or customer needs while remaining compliant with applicable regulations.

  • Depending on the nature of the project work in the program, may have an extensive interface with external customer organizations.

  • Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years of relevant experience in vegetation management, electric construction, maintenance, service planning, compliance, financial planning, or quality control/assurance.

Desired:

  • Proven leader with experience working in dynamic environment.

  • Influence skills, including solid meeting facilitation skills.

  • Experience working with both internal and external customers.

  • Experience working in operational roles.

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements or tariffs for assigned program work.

  • Knowledge of project and program management concepts, methods, and practices.

  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical problem-solving and decision-making ability.

  • Adaptability to adjust to changing business dynamics and priorities.

  • Knowledge of process improvement concepts, methods, and best practices.
