Job Category: Project / Program Management

Job Level: Supervisor

Business Unit: Engineering, Planning & Strategy

Work Type: Hybrid

Job Location: Oakland

Department Overview

The Clean Energy Transportation (CET) group is focused on accelerating the adoption of clean vehicles in California and has an ambitious goal of electrifying 3 million vehicles by 2030. CET leads a $0.6B portfolio of transportation electrification (TE) programs to increase the adoption of clean vehicles in California as we work to address one of the largest contributors to climate change – and we need a motivated, organized strategic thinker to help us expand this portfolio. We serve PG&E’s customers by deploying electric vehicle programs to increase access to charging infrastructure, reduce total cost of electric vehicle ownership, educating our customers and pursuing innovative strategies to unlock additional benefits to EV drivers and the grid.

Team Overview

PG&E believes that if properly managed, EVs can provide a quadruple value stack of reliability, resiliency, affordability, and lower GHG emissions for the grid and for our customers. The first step in achieving that vision is facilitating the transition to electric vehicles for our customers by simplifying the process, educating customers on the benefits of EVs, and connecting customers to available resources and incentives. CET’s EV Customer Programs team manages a robust portfolio of EV programs and contributes to the overarching strategy for finding solutions to customer barriers to EV adoption.

Position Summary

CET’s EV Advisory programs are focused on guiding customers through their transportation electrification (TE) journey and provide a centralized point of contact within PG&E. EV Advisors will cover a wide breadth of TE topics, including site selection, fleet electrification planning, rate selection, load management, vehicle to grid integrations, and serve as subject matter experts to enable the electrification of medium-and-heavy duty fleet vehicles through participation in CET’s EV Fleet program or a standard Service Planning channel. The program will rely heavily on internal cross collaboration efforts.

The supervisor will serve as key support for our EV Advisory Services portfolio development and contribute to our overall strategy for customer success. This role will be focused on success of our programs, improved operations, and representing the voice of the customer.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead a team of 5-8 EV Advisors responsible for customer education, solution design, and onboarding for PG&E’s EV infrastructure programs. This team is critical for educating customers on PG&E’s existing and future MDHD EV programs and guiding them through the application process to achieve PG&E’s EV deployment targets.

  • Lead internal and external coordination efforts with PG&E’s Service Planning, BES, Marketing, Public Affairs, Project Delivery, Project Management Office, and IT teams, in addition to coordinating externally with key stakeholders and customers.

  • Be a relentless advocate for customers, ensuring that PG&E delivers on its customer commitments and understanding customer satisfaction tradeoffs when it cannot.

The role is classified as hybrid (0-3 days per week in office), working primarily from your remote office and in-person in the Oakland General Office to attend team meetings or as business needs require.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $118,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $188,000.00
