Department Overview

The IT Meter to Cash Application Development team is responsible for software development and implementation of new functionality within the Customer Care and Billing system and its Direct Interfaces. This team works closely with the IT business analyst team to assure delivery of products and services that are top quality.

Position Summary

We are looking for an Expert Level IT applications design analyst in Customer Information team who can be a quick learner, thorough, organized, flexible to adapt in fast paced and dynamic environments. The analyst is mainly responsible for analyzing business requirements and developing function requirement and functional design documents. In addition, the analyst is responsible for analyzing O&M and project defects to determine business/technical impact and providing recommendation on fixing the defects.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $194,000

Job Responsibilities

Ideation:

  • Work with business organizations to guide/provide input regarding enhancement feasibility

  • Using business process knowledge, proactively look for opportunities for system enhancements

  • Evaluate and provide input to business needs and requirements

  • Prepare estimates for customer requests

  • Prepare preliminary mockups and designs

Project:

  • Analyze/assemble Functional/non-Functional requirements

  • Provide technical expertise and assistance in designing, testing and developing applications

  • Perform feasibility analysis, design and provide recommendations on the alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization, as well as system alternatives or enhancements to current systems

  • Prepare final functional requirement and functional design document

  • Conduct walkthrough of deliverables with business and IT Stakeholders and obtain approval/signoff

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert support to developers and testers

  • Work with business to document and analyze project change controls

  • Support stabilization of deployed code

Maintenance:

  • Troubleshoot potential system issues to determine if there is a defect

  • Analyze production defects, identify business and system impacts and quantify problems

  • Contribute to defect troubleshooting and solution design

  • Assist business and technical teams with ad hoc requests

  • Provide functional expertise to clients for resolving business issues

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience

  • 7 years experience in analyzing, designing and developing functional requirements, functional design, UX/UI design

  • Experience as Project Manager, high complexity

Desired:

  • Utility industry experience, job-related

  • Experience with CC&B Application

  • Oracle Utility C2M certified

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Oracle CC&B applications, and data modeling

  • Working knowledge of relational databases (SQL experience)

  • Working knowledge of UML

  • Be able to work independently but within the framework of the team and product

  • Be able to work well within a team setting

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain efficiency, consistency and achieve successful implementation of system enhancement

  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite of applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM application and data model

  • Experience dealing with Call Center and/or Back Office centric business

  • Understanding of database/schema architecture
