Exelon Principal HR Programs Specialist in OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois

Primary Purpose of Position

This position will report to the Director, HR Operations and Talent Acquisition. Responsibilities include managing analytics and data supporting Opco HR initiatives and quarterly HR reporting to leadership, including mining data from the Opco’s affirmative action plans, and measuring and reporting hiring, employee movement, and other diversity metrics. Responsibilities include supporting the execution of initiatives and programs designed to support HR projects, including researching, drafting and/or revising communications and program materials in support of initiatives, and conducting training regarding programs and initiatives. Interact with executives and senior leadership team to present and discuss initiatives, progress and proposals.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

Manage HR metrics and reporting including timely completion of cyclical reporting, development of appropriate business unit metrics and reports, analysis of results, and preliminary identification of strategies to address findings.

Research and recommend new ideas and best practices based on organization’s assessments and external research and experience with appropriate measurements to track efforts and accomplishments. Propose HR education resources or programs as a result. Communicate and partner with cross-functional HR teams, and various businesses and leaders to develop and implement new programs and HR protocols in line with HR and business strategies.

Deliver / facilitate training to ensure awareness and compliance with HR programs, goals and action plans.

Conduct sensitive internal investigations into employee relations issues, on an as-needed basis.


Bachelor’s Degree plus at least eight years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Leadership Development, Diversity Inclusion, or a related field.

At least two (2) years of experience in managing Affirmative Action Programs, including AAP interpretation and analysis, and communication to business units.

Strong written and verbal communication skills including creations of materials and presentations to internal and external audiences and executive leadership teams.

Extensive knowledge of the principles, laws and requirements of EEO regulations and laws.

Strong project management skills.

Deep understanding of data and analytics, both in creating reports, analyzing results and recommending strategies.

Must be able to effectively partner with HR Operations, Talent Acquisition and TMOD teams and with business leaders when developing and executing recommendations and programs.


Experience in diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives.

Ability to conduct sensitive employee investigations.
