POSITION: 2-Hot Stick Lineworker

DEPARTMENT: Electric Maintenance & Construction

LOCATION: Martha’s Vineyard

STARTING RATE OF PAY: $51.17

CURRENTLY POSTED HOURS: 7:30AM – 4PM

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday

REMARKS:

The title, Hot Stick Lineworker, designates employees working in the field in connection with the construction, operation, inspection and maintenance of transmission and distribution systems, including overhead and underground lines and equipment. Includes hot stick work as required. Generally, works in configurations of 1, 2, and 3 person crews as a self-directed crew with limited supervision.

Typical examples of the duties of an Hot Stick Lineworker include but are not limited to:

-Installs, removes, constructs, inspects, maintains, operates, and repairs overhead and underground plant and equipment, including the handling of energized wires, using hot stick equipment as necessary.

-Performs distribution system switching under the direction of Distribution Dispatch or Supervisor.

-Performs necessary tests and installs grounds on transmission and distribution system.

-Submits all necessary field reports, system changes, and other required documentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Must pass EEI testing (CAST test) and successful completion of a technical and behavioral interview including knowledge based exam and physical prescreen..

2.Ability to perform moderately heavy physical work outdoors in all seasons and at times for extended periods.

3.Valid CDL Driver’s License to Operate CommercialMotor Vehicles

4. Must have mechanical aptitude, be alert, safety conscious and have a history of safe work habits.

5.Must have Journeyman level Overhead Line experience working on energized and de-energized lines and must have a thorough understanding of operating and construction standards.
