JOB SUMMARY

Primarily responsible for the development, implementation and execution of political engagement programs; developing and managing relationships with district congressional offices as well as the management of day-to-day administrative functions of the ITC Political Action Committee (ITCPAC).Coordinate ITCPAC and events at state and federal levels.Assist with donor outreach, education, annual solicitation and support.Support ITCPAC Board.Provide support to State and Federal Affairs teams where appropriate, particularly with special events such as ITCPAC hosted events and facility tours. Represent the company at events and meetings as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement overall PAC strategy and direction for company’s federal PAC, including management activities (i.e., budgeting, fundraising, maintaining records, produce internal PAC reports and coordinate events).

  • Develops annual political participation strategy, including targets, PAC budget

  • Responsible for compliance with all Federal LDA requirements including lobby registration, reporting and record keeping; Ensures timely filing of Federal Compliance filings including the LD-203 and LD-2 reports

  • Knowledgeable of best practices and trends related to corporate political participation and PAC fundraising

  • Assists management to ensure political and legislative goals complement each other

  • Plans and coordinates all ITCPAC hosted events with respect to solicitation, fundraising and associated activities

  • Publishes and advertises PAC events in a timely manner to ensure participation and success; monitors RSVPs, works with catering, legal and outside counsel to ensure campaign compliance.

  • Works with State and Federal Affairs teams to assist with any political needs (i.e. request for events, contributions)

  • Assists with coordination of PAC Steering Committee needs and goals and serves as assistant treasurer; PAC Steering Committee responsibilities include:

  • Attendance at quarterly and special meetings

  • Coordination of quarterly meetings (agenda, treasurer's reports, presentations)

  • Manages all donor receipts and candidate disbursements, correspondence and deposits for ITCPAC (state & federal)

  • Manages the filing of Federal Election Commission (FEC) and lobbying disclosure reports and reconciliation of bank statements

  • Proficiency with the FEC database and has ability to manage data reports as needed.

  • Manages employee solicitation program and other identified events to increase contributions to ITCPAC; prepares "new employee" packet of ITCPAC materials

  • Develops political education component for solicitors, donors and eligible employees

  • Manages donor recognition programs and gift distributions

  • Coordinates and tracks annual PAC budgets for State and Federal Affairs

  • Develop and manage relationships with internal partners and lines of business, to provide support for public policy needs, communicate public policy developments at the federal level and provide strategic guidance on the political process

  • Attend and actively participate in meetings and events as directed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Marketing, English, Communications, History or other related field

  • Minimum of two (2) years of fundraising, campaign, national or state party committee, legislative experience or other related experience required

  • Knowledge of political committees, public policy, political environment and utility industry issues strongly preferred

  • Ability to recognize emerging political threats and opportunities

  • Good leadership, teamwork and collaborative skills

  • Understanding of state and FEC laws strongly preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including confidence in dealing with elected officials as well as all levels of the organization required

  • Excellent attention to details and strong organizational skills required

  • Proven understanding and handling of proprietary and confidential information

  • Flexibility to attend meetings/events outside normal business hours and ability to travel several times a year
