National Grid Senior Coordinator, Electrical Construction and Maintenance Engineering in Northboro, Massachusetts

About us

National Grid is hiring a Senior Coordinator within our Construction department based in Massachusetts. This is a hybrid (not remote) role, with 1-2 days in one of our Massachusetts offices. This position also requires driving.

Job Purpose

Contribute to the overall department planning, coordination, and organizational efforts for the NE electric In-House Substation and Outsourced D-Line, Civil, Substation teams who execute and deliver complex and non-complex capital projects. Interface and coordinate with internal and external customers and departments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with department leadership to ensure that training programs are aligned with business objectives.

  • Tracking and reporting employee training progress and compliance

  • Coordinate training programs and safety material.

  • Coordinate logistics, agenda, and material for month safety meeting (SSC).

  • Coordinate, track, and ensure NERC-CIP access compliance.

  • Manage and track department budget, vehicle inventory, and rental equipment.

  • Coordinate and track contractor onboarding material and rosters.

  • Manage and track department KPI’s and objectives.

  • Prepare and coordinate Safety Leadership Day material and logistics

  • Travel across service territory to provide field support to Managers and Supervisors.

  • Ability to support off-hours storm restoration activities.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Demonstrates a high level of personal initiative and efficient problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to develop effective working relationships.

  • Ability to work independently and empowered to make decisions to drive progress.

  • Supports a collaborative environment focused on achieving outcomes and building relationships, both internally and externally to execute tasks and assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, logistics, process, construction, or business discipline or 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience in utility management.

  • Strongly preferred experience in construction with focus on safety, cost control, adherence to environmental regulations, work quality, efficiency, and performance.

  • Strong aptitude for computer and business applications used to fully leverage technology solutions in the construction work environment.

  • Organization and management of multiple tasks / priorities to deliver high results.

  • Displays commitment to safe and productive work environment through consistent actions, beliefs and personal conduct.

More Information

Salary : $105,000 - $123,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
