Job Purpose

Coordinates the day-to- day operation of the National Grid distribution systems where assigned and administers the dispatch of gas supply to meet daily customer

requirements. This includes gas supply to firm, interruptible, cogeneration and power generation.

Coordinates the safe, reliable, and cost effective distribution of all gas supplies between regions from point of purchase, production, or take to the customer by

directing the operation, and maintenance of the company's SCADA system.

Ensures public safety through the safe operation of the company's distribution and transmission network consistent with State, Federal, and Company

standards, codes, procedures, contractual constraints, system demands and

supply acquisition obligations. Work with Regulatory agencies as required on any compliance requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Responsible to ensure compliance with National Grids Control Room Management plan. Lead the team to ensure all regulations for CRM federal

regulations 192.631 are followed to National Grids standards.

Responsible to manage all day-to -day Control Room activities required to safely operate the distribution and transmission system. This includes supervising and

leading all Gas System Operators.

Responsible for the proper coordination of operational communication with pipelines, suppliers, and major customers, as well as internal system planning,

construction, field operations, and gas supply.

Maintains responsibility for the overall operation, safety and reliability of National Grids operating system. This involves directing and approving all day-to-day

activities related to the operation, maintenance, and utilization of system assets, Sop's and coordinates between regions.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Proven supervisory abilities.


Bachelor's degree in engineering or business management desirable

5 to 10 years on the job experience in a gas control room environment

Position requires a solid technical foundation satisfied by advanced vocational skills attained through five to ten years of on the job experience in a Gas Control

Room environment.

Extensive knowledge of the Gas distribution, transmission system and power generators.

Thorough knowledge in the operations of upstream pipelines, regulation, instrument and gas conditioning equipment. Knowledge of SCADA, Gas System maintenance, and construction practices.

Thorough knowledge of Sop's, LNG, and Field equipment. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Proven ability to work with a wide range of people internal and external to the company and handle a variety of problems and demands. Multitasking and leadership required.

This position is DOT and random drug testing is required.
