Dominion Energy is looking for students to participate in our 2021 co-op and intern programs. Students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of Gas Utility Operations that will prepare them to compete for entry-level, professional positions in the utility industry upon graduation. The program’s goal is to attract, develop, and retain high-potential college students. Upon graduation and successful completion of our program, the student may be eligible for consideration for a full-time position in one of Dominion’s core business units. 2021 co-op positions are available located in Columbia and Charleston.
ResponsibilitiesSelected students will gain Utility knowledge in the following areas based upon the student’s area of interest and business need:• Prepare plans and procedures for natural gas system projects using AutoCad, GIS and Microsoft Office computer software. Projects include new pipeline projects, pipeline system improvement projects and service pipeline replacement projects.• Project administration duties including managing project schedules, budgets and providing status reports.• Field Operations supporting engineering specialists and engineers performing a variety of functions to include overseeing gas facility installations and operations related activities.• Students must be available to travel and work outside of normal business hours throughout the Dominion Energy’s Gas service territory.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Qualifications• Must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.5. • Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation.• Must have strong computer skills and good oral and written communication skills.• Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned work location.
Must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Anticipated graduation date of Spring 2022 or later
