National Grid Senior Specialist, Project Management in North Andover, Massachusetts
National Grid is hiring a Senior Specialist, Project Management, for our Channel Sales NE department in North Andover, MA, but would be open to other locations in Massachusetts.

Manage the delivery and performance of the Project Expeditor initiative for Commercial & Industrial customers, with a focus on customer and internal needs, including business support, coordination of services, program offerings and the tracking of energy savings, budget spending, participation and key performance indicators. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer satisfaction, productivity, and process efficiency through the use of best practices and market-driven strategies. Responsible for managing the overall performance of the Commercial & Industrial third party Project Expeditor vendors in Massachusetts and Rhode Island to achieve the committed program energy savings targets within the program budgets.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Business Support – Provide support for Commercial Sales and Channel Sales teams and Implementation vendors, as it relates to Project Expeditor Initiatives. Business support includes, but is not limited to: providing information on project status, forecasts and eligibility, helping external stakeholders and Sales understand required procedures, directing marketing activities, working with Lead Implementation Vendors to provide trainings and monthly meetings, and proactively following-up to confirm their understanding of services available.
Goal Tracking & Development – Monitor progress toward sales goals for energy savings, and participation, as well as internal goals (key performance indicators) of Large Commercial Industrial implementation and productivity. If/when necessary, develop and execute tactics to boost performance to goals. Lead efforts to develop and set targets for the third party partners serving in the Project Expeditor role.
Typical activities include leading and attending meetings with Commercial Sales, Channel Sales and stakeholders; presenting at various internal and external meetings for the Project Expeditor community who serve in the Commercial and Industrial programs; in-person at multiple Massachusetts/Rhode Island locations, initiating and responding to emails and phone calls.
Services Coordination – Act as primary point-of-contact and work with all parties currently implementing projects for National Grid’s Commercial & Industrial energy efficiency and energy products initiatives. Act as primary point of contact for Project Expeditors for progress to delivery of goals.
Program Improvement and Development – Proactively seek ways to improve the implementation and offerings for customers by soliciting vendor, customer and stakeholder feedback, researching/implementing best practices, exploring ways to streamline processes, and developing communication materials. Also, lead the development of new measure opportunities. Collaborate with internal partners to develop robust strategies and execution plans that offer best-in-class approaches to Large Commercial Industrial initiatives for the participating market.
Manage the day-to-day relationship with Project Expeditor vendors, Commercial Sales, Channel Sales, and other external service providers, including effective negotiation, interpretation, and application of established contractual agreements and/or service level agreements.
Administering program targets to the vendor teams. Support the procurement process for external delivery vendors and lead the effort to write scopes of work.
Managing and motivating vendor and contractor relationships through peak performance through innovative and stretching metrics.
Bachelor’s degree in a related area preferred and 2+ years of related work experience (energy efficiency program management preferred).
An understanding of commercial lighting and other commercial products, ie: Electric Vehicle products.
Proficiency in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SalesForce.
Knowledge of relevant industry practices, trends, and legislation.
Experience in conducting in person presentations on subject matter.
Vendor management skills
Solid project management skills to include strong negotiation skills
Ability to adapt and tailor approach to wide variety of audiences
Valid driver's license required.
