We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is the project management of new electric distribution line projects supporting the Electric Distribution capital and O&M budgets including but not limited to: data centers, Grid Planning, Distributed Generation, Distribution Rider, Complex Commercial, and Jurisdictional projects. Ensure the classical project management approach is realized as project managers guide their teams through the various project phases from conceptual design through construction and acceptance by the customer. Responsible for all aspects of the project and oversight of detailed review of key project agreements. Directs evaluation, analysis, and due diligence activities. Responsible for understanding of the growth demands in the data center arena across Dominion Energy footprint.

Review and develop internal process that are highly effective while fostering cooperation and teamwork across all disciplines. Manage interfaces between electric distribution planning, design, engineering, project management, scheduling, project controls, construction, key accounts, economic development, operating centers, transmission, substation, other departments, and customers. Maintain a broad understanding of what is needed to meet the ongoing challenges of data center growth as well as complex Grid Planning, Distribution Rider, Commercial, and Jurisdictional projects across the Dominion Energy footprint. Responsible for developing a strong, broadly skilled, and diverse workforce to achieve business unit objectives.

The role will provide team leadership and promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and collaboration while providing efficient resource utilization to complete Distribution Line projects on time, on scope, and on budget.

The successful candidate for this role will be able to report to the Central (Richmond - TFF), Northern (Herndon/Lincoln Park), or Eastern (Norfolk) offices.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 8-10+ years of directly related experience.

  • Knowledge of electric distribution field facilities, operations, and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of company operations, strategies, and business plans.

  • Knowledge and application of customer contracts, agreements and terms and conditions.

  • Awareness of applicable codes and regulations.

  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff in a team environment.

  • Proven ability to effectively plan and manage multiple activities, resources and time.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Skills: leadership; verbal and written communication; resource management; planning and organizing.

  • Abilities: teaming; address multiple tasks simultaneously; process information from many sources and formulate workable plan; make effective decisions; project management.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

  • Bachelor

  • Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above
