PSEG's principal operating subsidiaries are: Public Service Electric and Gas Co. (PSE&G), PSEG Power and PSEG Long Island.

PSEG is seeking a Customer Contact Technology Intern.

This position will be part of the team that manages the technology, analytics, workforce optimization, and quality management for PSE&G's Contact Center. In 2022, the team will implement a new integrated contact center technology platform. This position will focus on the platform's reporting and analytics bring insight and prediction to the front customer service lines and the back office. Work will vary based on the status of the project at the time. Possible assignments include data analysis, testing and validation, and report development. Interns will be asked to communicate progress, results, and findings.

This positon will be a hybrid of remote and in person, however this is subject to change based on safety practices.

Job Responsibilities

Candidates need to be able to meet deadlines, juggle competing priorities, and operate independently while knowing when to ask for help or guidance. Candidates should have an interest in, and comfort with data analysis, BI tools, cloud-based technology and customer service. Strong communication skills are critical, particularly written communication, and candidates with direct customer service experience are desired. Candidates should have proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree majoring in Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, or similar related area from an accredited institution

  • Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. Candidates must have excellent oral and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.

  • Candidates must be familiar with computer mapping applications and general knowledge of computer hardware and software programs. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education, which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Business, IT, Computer Science, or related major and an anticipated graduation date between December 2022 and May 2024. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the summer period and as business needs warrant. We are targeting: Currently enrolled students (must be enrolled at the commencement of the internship program) Housing, transportation, immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
