Lead the way in establishing, implementing, developing, and controlling best practices for Continuous Improvement throughout PSEG.

Work at the highest levels with the senior executive team, management, and staff to address the company’s most critical business process issues. Projects touch areas including cost reduction, performance improvement, process change and development and other operational initiatives, as well as large scale transformational projects focused on building an enhanced core business, technology and industry expertise.

Develop and implement programs to establish and maintain quality standards of existing products and services, as well as developing programs to focus employees on quality improvement at the business process level. Develops policies, procedures and metrics to monitor process, material, components and/or operational quality and improve same

Deliver world-class business and process solutions that will enable the company to maintain its high performance, business leadership position in Operational Excellence, Financial Strength and Disciplined Investment.

This position is also responsible for leading the Business Center - Payroll and Employee Services functions for Enterprise.

Specific duties include:

  • Challenge the status quo and guide leadership teams in the identification of improvement opportunities.

  • Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements.

  • Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.

  • Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures and process changes that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and efficiency.

  • Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering of business processes.

  • Measure process improvement performance against targets.

  • Assist executive management in the prioritization of projects and allocation of resources to ensure successful completion of the process improvement portfolio. Define how the scope, goals and deliverables of projects should support business goals, in collaboration with senior management.

  • Coach and mentor event/project leaders in concepts, tools and change management techniques.

  • Challenge the status quo and guide leadership teams in the identification of improvement opportunities.

  • Direct strategic initiatives that support the management, direction and execution of all Payroll, Employee Master Data and Org. maintenance for PSEG and PSEG LI operations in support of over 13,000 active employees. Lead and manage the teams effectively.

Required:

  • Undergraduate University degree in Engineering, Business Administration or other highly analytical field; Master’s degree desirable

  • Proven strong leadership skills; persuasive, encouraging, and motivating

  • Deep technical knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, as well as other process improvement methodologies

  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work multiple projects simultaneously (PMI Certification a plus)

  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities

  • Appreciation for and successful experience in driving change management

  • Excellent training, presentation and communication skills - both written and oral

  • Excellent understanding of and ability to explain analytical tools and statistics

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor facilitators

  • Proven ability to work well in team environment, with sound negotiation and problem solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with other leaders on sensitive issues

  • Ability to combine initiative, integrity and professional discipline to accomplish difficult tasks through other people

  • Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, including the ability to read communication styles of project team leads, team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail

Desired:

  • Six sigma master black belt certified and must have experience with both the delivery and deployment aspects of large scale business transformation projects.

  • Change agent who have delivered results at leading continuous improvement companies.

  • Strong project management and change management skills

  • Ability to lead and work on several concurrent projects

  • Plan and lead complex process improvement projects

  • Exhibit a high level of ownership and assume full accountability for managing and delivering projects.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, pro-actively managing risk, and facilitating high performing teams.

  • Strong interest in how business processes work and interact. Good at applying skills in project and program management while exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and implementation of process, technology, and organizational change.
