This position will provide technical leadership, consultation and subject matter expertise to vendors, suppliers, end-users and partners. This position is the subject matter expert for midrange components of PSEG’s and all real time operations (Electric & Gas) implementation. The primary midrange contact for the SCADA and real time operations (Electric & Gas) and midrange infrastructure. Responsible for all real-time operations design, changes, implementations and outage situations. Manage the 24x7 uptime of key Infrastructure across multiple environments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides technical leadership of VMware, Active Directory and DNS for vendors and other system engineers, all windows virtual servers including patching and Microsoft SCCM, ensuring patches are brought into SCCM and deployed to the Windows servers.

  • Manages, maintains and deploys VMware hosts, clusters and virtual machines. Provides technical configuration, setup, installation services, hardware and coordination.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex systems problems without need for escalation.

  • Develops and maintains products installation guidelines and server documentation.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, Education or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of experience in IT with at least 3 years in midrange operations. Without a Bachelor’s degree at least 10 of experience in IT with at least 5 years in midrange operations.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Identity technologies including Active Directory, Windows File Services, and Group Policies.

  • Expert knowledge in administering Active Directory (AD) and GPO’s.

  • Expert knowledge of AD, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, DFS.

  • Experience in Enterprise Monitoring and Configuration (patch management) tools SCOM 2012 & SCCM

  • Knowledge of security best practices in a virtualized environment

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities through projects or other work planning experiences.

  • VMWare vSphere & vCenter 6.0 & 6.5

  • Windows Server (2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016) experience

  • Good understanding of common protocols and services, including: DHCP, DNS, FTP(S), HTTP(S), LDAP, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, TCP, UDP, and the ability to support, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to these protocols.

  • Experience with Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP)

  • Working knowledge of Networks and strong understanding of TCP/IP

  • Qualified to work in an NERC CIP environment.

  • Good to thorough understanding of and experience in ITSM Service Operation and Service Transition methodologies (Incident, Change, Problem).

  • Demonstrated experience working with and managing outsourced vendors (on and off shore) within the information technology field.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent leadership, technical teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to foster working relationships with the team, IT Management and Client departments.

  • Ability to work in a 24 X 7 environment with callout availability required

  • Perform related duties as assigned or requested.

  • Advanced degree, MBA or MS

  • Microsoft or VMWare certification
