Portfolio Analyst, Asset Mgt (Temp-to-Perm) - Safari Energy (A PPL Co)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a financial analysis of the Safari asset portfolios for the executive team monthly

  • Assist the Programming team to develop asset management platform via Python and SQL

  • Manage API connections, SQL database, AWS S3 and Web Development, UI/UX and GitHub

  • Participant in neural network, machine learning and regression prediction projects

  • Review and summarize contract compliance requirements for investments

  • Interface with the Operations team on all structural and technical aspects of Safari’s solar projects

  • Assist with the execution of financial valuation modeling assignments (DCF model)

  • Specific duties include performing various financial analysis activities including financial reporting, analyzing project metrics, modeling, and cost analysis

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, the Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for assisting in portfolio management for Safari’s solar energy projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to both the financial analysis and project management aspects of the function and participate in programming projects. The ability to work independently and as a team member are critical, as well as the desire and innovative mindset to operate as an important contributor within a fast-paced company environment. This is a temporary opportunity with the potential to lead to a full-time position.

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications:

  • 0-1 year working experience

  • Education background in Business Analytics and Programming strongly preferred

  • Previous project experience in Python programming and database management

  • Proven ability to run complex financial models quickly and accurately with Excel

  • Experience in the renewable industry, public policy, environmental consulting, or market research fields, preferred

  • Detail-oriented problem solver with analytical mindset, who can convey the intended value proposition by mining raw data and extracting statistical insights

  • Highly energetic and results-driven with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
