Portfolio Analyst, Asset Management (Safari Energy - A PPL Company)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a financial analysis of the Safari asset portfolios for the executive team on a monthly basis

  • Onboard and manage portfolio financial models, including return management, risk evaluation and scenario tests

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of Safari’s owned portfolio, including finance, legal, operations, accounting, risk, operations and relationship management

  • Review and manage contract compliance requirements for investments

  • Interface with the Operations team on all structural and technical aspects of Safari’s solar projects

  • Assist with the execution of financial valuation modeling assignments (DCF model)

  • Assist Programming team to develop asset management platform via Python and SQL

  • Perform various financial analysis activities including financial reporting, analyzing project metrics, modeling, and cost analysis

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, the Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for assisting in portfolio management for Safari’s solar energy projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to both the financial analysis and project management aspects of the function and participate in programing projects. The ability to work independently and as a team member are critical, as well as the desire and innovative mindset to operate as an important contributor within a fast-paced company environment.

Must be passionate about the renewable energy business, hardworking and thrive in the fast pace of a rapidly growing, early stage company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 0-1 years working experience

  • Education background in Finance, Pre-law or Business Analytics preferred

  • Proven ability to run complex financial models quickly and accurately with Excel

  • Experience in the renewables industry, public policy, environmental consulting, or market research fields, preferred

  • Previous experience in Python programming and database management preferred

  • Detail-oriented problem solver with analytical mindset, who can convey the intended value proposition by mining raw data and extracting statistical insights

  • Highly energetic and results-driven with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
