Core Responsibilities

  • Con Edison, a multibillion-dollar energy utility, is leading the clean energy transition in New York City and Westchester County. We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to integrate distributed resources into our electric and gas systems, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and scale adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies across our customers.

  • This is a great role to demonstrate your ability to drive results, demonstrate application of cross-disciplinary skills to the clean energy space and gain firsthand experience with the clean energy transition.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and devise possible solutions.

  • Design and develop interactive, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports that accurately represent complex data sets. Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of data used in dashboards and reports.

  • Automate and streamline reporting processes to enhance business intelligence capabilities.

  • Participate in the design and implementation of MLOps workflows, ensuring seamless integration between development and deployment of machine learning models.

  • Contribute to the development of automated data preprocessing, feature engineering, training, and deployment processes using Azure Machine Learning pipelines and related services.

  • Use different machine learning models to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting, and other business outcomes.

  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies.

  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement solutions and monitor outcomes.

  • Design, construct, and manage ETL data pipelines within the Azure Databricks environment.

  • Ensure the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into Azure Data Lake or other designated storage solutions.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degree and 5 years related work experience in a system engineering/analysis area

Relevant Work Experience

  • Proficient in SQL Required

  • Proficient in Python Required

  • Deep understanding of Machine Learning algorithms and concepts Required

  • Experience in at least 1 machine learning projects (regression/ classification model). Required

  • Experience with building dashboards. Required

  • Experience with Cloud Computing Technologies. Preferred

  • Experience with Agile project management. Preferred

  • Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) or Machine Learning Operations. Preferred

  • Experience with energy efficiency, demand-side management, electric vehicles, and/or other clean energy program from a utility or participating vendor perspective. Preferred

  • Familiar with New York State's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), Con Edison's rate case, New Efficiency New York, and/or other relevant clean energy regulations or proceedings. Preferred

  • Strong skills and experience with the MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project. Preferred
