Nature of Work:

As a key leader within the fleet function, the Fleet Program Manager will play a critical role in our organizational evolution. This position will manage, direct, and lead strategic operations with regards to fleet repair, driver qualifications, vendor relationships, strategy and planning, and operational excellence. This position will also partner and work closely with Supply Chain.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties listed below may vary in terms of importance and other duties may be added or eliminated as this position develops.

  • Develop and maintain company-wide inventory management process and procedures for fleet assets from acquisition to initial field deployment through life cycle and decommissioning.

  • Ensure DOT compliance and efficient and effective process of vehicle and equipment repairs, rapid turnaround of vehicles and equipment. Manage fleet and maintenance quality assurance and quality control programs.

  • Leverage fleet management system, partner with regional leaders to set standards, measure repair and maintenance activity, and optimize equipment use and sharing across the business.

  • Design and implement fleet telematics strategy. Establish metrics for utilization, downtime, repairs, trends, and then recommend and execute improvement plans to increase efficiency and reduce expenses.

  • Research and implement new equipment programs that support the future needs of the business.

  • Serve as champion for business process transformation opportunities. Connect with sister companies and Artera leadership. Identify innovations and best practices and deploy them.

  • 7+ years direct experience in Fleet.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Relevant experience and/or technical diploma may be substituted.

  • Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, ANSI, OSHA and safety laws and regulations concerning fleet maintenance and operations is desired.

  • Ability to work as part of a team while accomplishing departmental and company goals.

  • Ability to develop effective relationships across the business and to act as a change agent.

  • Proactive, well-organized, and effective time management with the ability to lead and participate in multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of maintenance tracking systems and applicable computer software.

  • Knowledge of software applications, proficiency using MS Office (Outlook, Word, & Excel), and ability to learn other applicable software as required.
