Description

TheAssociateProjectManager,underdirectsupervision,willserveasprojectsupportby planning,organizing,and implementing projectmanagementprinciples.Thispositionmustdemonstratean understandingofhowthebusinessruns,howchanging circumstancesarehandled,and whotocontactwhen therearequestions.Itisessentialtopossessexcellentverbaland written communication skills.Criticalforsuccessaretheabilitiestoworkindependentlyandasapartof ateam,meetdeadlines,and anticipateandmeetinternalcustomerneeds. This position does require travel for up to 3 weeks at one time.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain and promoteastrong safety cultureforallemployees,vendors,and customersand followallsafetypolicies,proceduresand regulations.Identify and communicateworkplacehazardsandcorrectorseekassistanceincorrecting unsafeactionsorconditions.

  • AssistProjectManager(PM)inmanaging smallerprojectsunderdirectsupervision.Assistwiththedevelopmentandtrackingofkeyperformanceandfinancialmetricsthatwilloptimizeperformance,productivity,and reducecosts.

  • Assistonessentialprojectdutiesincluding costand labortracking,materialsubmittals,subcontractormanagement,contractcompliance,etc.thatwilloptimizeperformance,productivity,and reducecosts.

  • AssistinfacilitatingsubcontractoractivitiesunderPM supervision.

  • Maintain documentationofproperaccounting,reportingofprojectcosts,customerbilling,scheduling,materialprocurement,and budgeting.ProvidereportstoPMasrequested.

  • AssistPMwith federal/stateagencycorrespondenceandreporting.

  • Maintain projectschedulesunderdirectsupervision.

  • Attend construction related meetingstosupportprojectrelated functions.

  • Assistinthepreparationofproposalsand estimates,including take-offs.

  • Provideonsiteadministrativesupporttasks.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include prior project management experience in electrical utility construction. Applicants must be able to handle multiple projects at one time, possess the ability to successfully negotiate terms and conditions, manage tight deadlines, demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of management and proficiency in computer software skills specifically with estimating and job cost tracking software.
