Eversource Energy Field Meter Mechanic III in Nashua, New Hampshire

Installs and removes self-contained watt-hour meters, and other electrical devices. Tests single and three phase self-contained watt-hour meters.

Performs the duties of a meter reader/specialist.

Regular Duties:

Installs, removes, and changes single phase and polyphase self-contained watt-hour meters. Reads watt-hour demand meters. Programs and reads solid state watt-hour meters. Wires metering devices under direction of a qualified employee. Examines indicating instruments and test devices.

Tests single phase and three self-contained watt-hour meters.

Installs and removes recording voltmeters for polyphase meters under

direction. Inspects single phase and three phase self-contained meter installations for compliance with company requirements and for energy diversion.

Accesses on-line customer records, meter tracking, and other databases to obtain necessary information. Completes necessary paperwork. Completes meter inventory, and stocking. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience required: associate degree in industrial electricity/electronics or equivalent in combined related education and experience.

Helpful: Previous related metering experience, or licensed electrician.

Required Skills:

Understanding of and ability to apply electrical theory. Mechanical aptitude; manual and finger dexterity. The ability to: perform basic math functions; use hand and power tools; work without direct supervision and communicate effectively with the public.

Individual must pass the CAST test. Storm duty assignments as required.

License(s)/Certificate(s): Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required.
