JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Billing Operations Analyst is crucial to our ability to create a customer-first experience and will have the opportunity to guide the creation of accurate and timely workflows and the delivery of improvements in our integrated systems with business partners, financial colleagues and third-party vendors. This position will be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and drive scalability.

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Management or IT

  • OR Equivalent work experience

Related Work Experience

  • Required - 5-7 years utility experience

  • Preferred - 7-9 years utility experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortability interacting with internal/external customers, IT project leads, and stakeholders

  • Deadline-oriented

  • MS Word – intermediate proficiency

  • MS Excel – intermediate proficiency

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of accounting, corporate finance, analysis and reporting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • MS Word – advanced proficiency

  • MS Excel – advanced proficiency

  • Project management experience

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute operations work across the Billing organization with a focus on creating a highly collaborative culture of timely and accurate billing

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our software and service environment, including CC&B, PeopleSoft, Enterprise Foundations and GCMA

  • Drive and develop process integration within the entire Billing organization to create a more standardized and uniform process across all GAS LDCs and customer types

  • Collaborate with and direct resources internally on process improvement and integration efforts

  • Manage communication and partner with cross-functional teams including the Technology Organization, Internal Controls, Legal, and Accounting

  • Drive process automation using all platforms including existing system functionality and Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

  • Coordinate and oversee team projects, workflow maintenance and development, and training, onboarding & development initiatives

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to solve billing inquiries

  • Build out analytics and reporting to measure success through KPI’s and provide visibility to leadership on a regular basis

  • Create and review monthly billing schedules for accuracy and completeness for leadership

  • Assist with billing system implementation

  • Assist with internal and external audit support
