At NPL, our projects rely on having the right materials at the right time. A well maintained shop and warehouse is the key to making that happen. Our Parts Runner is responsible for supporting warehouse operations by running for parts and cleaning equipment and trucks.

  • Provide assistance to the Warehouse Manager

  • Assist with yard operations including the loading of pipe, assembling orders, general cleaning, organization, stocking, and repairs

  • Runn parts and clean equipment and trucks

  • Clean shop and warehouse facilities

  • Document and record material receipts

  • Provide regular communication to internal customers to keep them informed of progress on issues

  • Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with Material Manager and Warehouse Manager

  • Provide occasional after hours support for critical timelines

  • Perform other duties as requested by leadership

Education, Skills, Experience Needed

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

  • Ability to operate and maneuver vehicles and equipment in tight spaces within a storage area

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

  • Knowledge of inventory counting and tracking methods

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working Environment

  • Work is performed in a typical warehouse environment and an outdoor construction yard

  • All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English

  • Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling

  • Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment

  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 pounds


  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens

  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify

  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
