Position Summary: The Sr. Payroll Business Analyst will manage payroll initiatives, plan testing of all business processes in advance of designated dates and facilitate on-time deliverables to production environments. This may include collaborating with the Tax and Payroll Manager, Payroll Director or other individuals outside of payroll. The role requires strong teamwork, problem solving, and analytic skills. Critical to the success of the role is the ability to coordinate with multiple departments around overarching objectives, deliverables, on-time delivery and time management. The candidate must be a creative thinker/continuous learner, with an ability to embrace change management, bring a sense of urgency to delivering valued results and thrives within a challenging high-performance work environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with HR, OTL, Payroll teams, and others to facilitate subject matter expertise for development and testing of process enhancements.

  • Ability to lead and manager projects in analysis and completion of project deliverables.

  • Customer Focus – support team efforts to accomplish goals and objectives on-time with a primary focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Collaborate in the development, testing and implementation of new projects, enhancements, systems and interfaces in all areas that relate to payroll processing. Creates functional and user interface-related test scripts and carries out the testing using the extraction and reporting tools available to carry out testing. Should have experience creating scripts to perform data validation.

  • Analysis and development of new processes or enhancements to existing processes.

  • Document business cases, create procedures and process flow diagram documentation. Develop and deploy end user training as needed.

  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to management. Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.

  • Manage and grow the Business Analyst role as a direct report – ensuring training is thorough and performance objectives are met.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years functional experience in payroll.

  • Experience with Oracle HCM/Payroll and time and attendance systems such as Kronos/eTime is preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of core HR/PR modules and configuration

  • Excellent analytical, team building and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail oriented with expertise in written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.

  • Oracle BI query experience with the ability to create complex queries is preferred

  • Demonstrated payroll processing and time reporting expertise
