Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
The Quality Management department within PG&E’s gas operations resides within the larger organizational branch of Safety, Quality and Contract Management. Key functions of this department include quality assessment verifications of work being performed in the field, causal evaluation support, work procedure error investigations, and support to all areas of the gas operations to build quality management into our everyday processes. Establishing a Quality Management System across our asset management, project management, work management and field execution processes is a top priority for Gas Operations leadership, and this position will be a part of the exciting effort to implement leading quality management practices, and ultimately ensure the safest operation for our employees and the public we serve.
This position will report to the Manager, Quality Management (QM) Field and have day to day contact with the QM Supervisor of the Locate & Mark Program and the QM Specialists performing the leak survey assessments. The Gas Quality Information Analyst is responsible to request/review information from the operating headquarters, compile documents to develop a quality assessment package, schedule field assessments for the QM Specialists, review completed assessments for accuracy, maintain the QM data base for assessment findings and generate reports. The QM Analyst will work with other QM Analysts and the QM Supervisor to produce monthly reports and analyze the results to identify trends, best practices and lessons learned. In addition, the QM Analyst will track and administer contracts for services related to the individual programs. This includes, working with the individual contractors to produce all the required information needed to write the service contracts, invoice tracking and cost run rates, timely change orders to insure services are not interrupted. Additional duties include, providing timely required written and verbal communications for various levels of operations.
The position requires a firm understanding of department policies and procedures, and the ability to engage other departments in seeking solutions to complicated problems.
Bachelor in Business, Management, Administration, or greater or related field or six years of equivalent work experience
2 years of experience in progressively responsible roles in a business function or equivalent
Valid CA Driver's license required
Primarily office environment with extensive use of personal computer, telephone conversations and conference calls.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Portfolio, specifically MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
3 years of related work experience
Knowledge of ProntoForms
Strong MS Excel skills
Strong analytical, creative and organizational skills
Six Sigma Certification
Ability to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities both in written and verbal form
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Develop metrics and management reports to monitor effectiveness of controls and process improvement
Develop and implement quality assurance strategy, policies, and procedures
Develop production-based reporting using advanced programs, such as BIRST
Utilize advanced querying programs to access large volume databases to source consistent and reliable reports
Work collaboratively with all levels of management to effectively communicate progress, performance, issues and emerging concepts
Analyze existing processes, identity and prioritize areas of opportunity, define projects to improve performance, and drive these projects to completion
Lead and champion process improvement projects to achieve better alignment of business processes to business goals
Attain departmental objectives and complete other duties as assigned
Effectively meet tight deadlines
Some travel required, mainly to Bishop Ranch or to support quality field visits
